Welcome to Tabacos de la Cordillera™.
As
Director for the company, I would like to tell you a little
about us. |
|

|
|
|
Costa Rica has, for many years, been
overlooked as a producer of top-quality cigar
tobacco. This, despite the fact one of the industry's major
growers of this tobacco has large farms in the country. Many
areas of Costa Rica have ideal soil and climate for its
cultivation. Lately, however, Costa Rican tobacco has been
appearing increasingly in the listings of highly rated cigars.
Our cigars are true puros, made not only with tobacco from only
one country, but with tobacco exclusive to Tabacos de la
Cordillera's
farm. |

We at Tabacos de la Cordillera live
and work in a true
Shangri-la. From a vantage point near our property, you can
see both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The climate at the
2,200' elevation is perfect for both tobacco and man. Our
65-acre farm and
factory overlooks a small valley, between the low mountains
to East and West. The valley floor is studded with miniature,
craggy mountains, typical of volcanic terrain. They are covered
with an emerald-green velvet of vegetation. The view from my
office windows is almost totally natural, with only a few small
houses in the distance. |

Our permanent work force consists of
75 skilled and dedicated farm, factory, and administrative
personnel. The number swells to 150 during peak work cycles like
planting and harvesting. We control every phase from creating
new strains of seeds to quality control and packaging of the
finished cigars. All our cigars are handmade exclusively from
our tobacco, which we grow naturally from genetically pure,
ancestral,
pre-Castro Cuban seed. We turn the clock back 50 years ...
with the 100% long-filler tobacco we use in our handmade
cigars, and with our 1950s prices. We take pride in bringing you
the finest cigars available today. |
